First Day Volunteering
Today is my first day volunteering. I'm pretty excited about it, and it has been enjoyable so far. I'm filling in for the usual receptionist, and it's been cool getting to know people and trying to make them feel special. Everyone just seems so grateful and nice. I really like it, and hope I can do more to contribute in the coming months.
I was a little nervous this morning, before I came, I guess because I didn't know what to expect. I could only imagine that I would be swamped and have 5 people yelling at me, but that couldn't be further from the truth. In contrast with working at DSC, this place is busy, although I have been told that Fridays are the slow days. Today was probably the perfect day for me to come in then, since I'm not used to being horribly busy. I've had some time for homework, some time for surfing the web, and some time to help some people out.
Today has been a good day.
