Hartz Products - Don't Use 'Em

It is largely known that Hartz flea preventatives (collars, sprays, etc.) have been toxic to some cats and dogs - leaving some pets with debilitating health issues or even worse, dead. Unfortunately, Hartz products have yet to been removed from store shelves, therefore, people continue to purchase these potentially lethal products while their pets pay the price.

If you currently use Hartz flea and tick preventatives, I urge you to please stop for the safety of your pet. There are many products that are available through your vet.'s office, including the one I use, Advantage, and another popular brand, Frontline. If you don't see your vet. regularly (this is a whole different topic altogether, but something I don't encourage), you can generally call one of the Banfield Clinics and ask for a prescription without even having your pet present. Advantage isn't very expensive and works very quickly - your pet will thank you!

For more information, see HartzVictims.org, but be advised that some of the photos on the website are graphic.

Thanks for posting this.....I've been using Advantage and Frontline on my pets for a while now, and I'll never go back to the cheap over-the-counter collars and treatments, both for safety and effectiveness.
