Update

So, we found a roomie, thank God. He seems like a nice fellow, and will be working on his Masters Degree from UTC in Industrial Psychology this Fall. He seems very laid back and I think he will be a good fit. On the other hand, after we made this decision, another guy approached us about rooming with us and he seemed like a great fit, too! It's great to have such good prospects and I almost wish we had a bigger place to help these people out. Oh well, c'est la vie.

A few weeks ago, we adopted a new kitty. He is healthy and happy and very playful. He also is very partial to me, and that makes Mommy happy. I'm so glad that he's healthy since we've had such an ordeal with other kittens adopted from shelters. I understand that shelters and rescue groups are really trying to make a difference in the lives of these animals but sometimes the conditions inside these places are horrible. After weeks of contemplating a name, I finally decided to name the little booger Hudson.

Since our old roomies are moving out (they have the other cats), Hudson will be alone when they go. I have decided to adopt a little playmate for him, and I have had a really rough time making a decision. Tonight I went and played with a bunch of kitties from a local rescue organization and there are just entirely too many cuties! I wish I could take them all home. It is very stressful for me to make this kind of decision because I want to pick the one that is right for our family, and I want to be the right family for him or her.

I am feeling better lately despite the fact that I've had a hard time dealing with people lately. I am very lucky that I continue to receive support from people who read my blog. Sember, another woman in the Chattanooga area constantly leaves notes here that encourage me and comfort me. I appreciate it so much! I don't think people who drop by and send me e-mails or leave comments realize how much they are a blessing to this lonely girl, so thank you!

I'm excited about the new semester starting in the Fall, but I am a little nervous, too. I am looking forward to it, though, and I hope that I will do well.
