Dark Waters

'Dark Waters' is a total mess of a movie - and not in a 'Vanilla Sky' type of a way. While the story isn't so hard to follow, there are parts of the story that serve no real purpose.

The jist of the story:

A woman and a man are in the midst of a divorce. While the woman maintains custody of their only daughter, the man isn't happy that the woman refuses to live close to his new home. So, like any other respectable and caring father, he tells the woman that she "better get a lawyer" and that he plans to take to take her to court. The woman and the child move to a dump of an apartment, complete with eeire maintenance man. To make a long story short, a little kid died in the water tower on the roof of the apartment building and she haunts the apartment complex - especially the woman and the child. Eventually, the woman discovers that the child was murdered and the ghost-child refuses to let the woman and her daughter move out. So, the woman sacrifices herself and dies, so she can remain with the ghost-child, while her daughter packs up and moves in with her father.

Very dumb. It is reminicent of "The Ring," except "The Ring" is better.

I give this movie an F. I usually close my eyes in thrillers/suspense flicks (yes, I'm a sissy), and the only reason why I closed my eyes in this movie is because it was a total snoozefest. Cute kid, though.

yeah I saw the Japanese version about a year ago and it sucked don't ask me why they would remake a movie that sucked (and did poorly) in its original form.
