'Little C' the Kitty

So, last week we adopted a little kitty, and I'm very excited about it all. I've been so nervous and worried about him and his behavior, though. He sleeps all the time! I know that full-grown cats sleep about 18 hours a day, so I suspect that kittens sleep even more, but this kitty just loves to sleep - I bet 22 hours a day! At any rate, he's incredibly sweet (even when he's awake), and I'm already attached to the little fella. We call him 'Little C' because one of our roommates doesn't care for his real name so we've abbreviated it with just a 'C' and since he's so tiny, we've added 'little' in front of his nickname. I'll have to post pictures sometime.

Anyone have kitty advice? I need it! This new Mommy is already spoiling her little baby rotten.

Have your kitten checked for worms. They can really sap the energy from a little one, and it's an easy problem to fix.

i didnt know that some cats were actually alergic to milk. so you should make sure you keep cat milk and water available at all times. and gross as this sounds, watch for excessive waste or none at all. some kitties need to be stimulated if they dont have their mother around. and try not to spoil the baby rotten. that's how my baby is. later on you'll see how silly it is to treat a kitten like royalty and you're dressed in rags. lol.
have fun

Thank you both for the replies!

Dana, the kitten was de-wormed before we got him, so he should be alright. Although, I am taking him to the vet. next week, so I'll make sure to mention it again. Better to be safe than sorry.

Tiff,
Cow's milk is not good for kittens - you're right. However, you can offset this by adding an egg yolk to the cow's milk, if you plan to feed cow's milk at all to your cat. Personally, I have just been giving him water and he seems to enjoy it. He's doing fine in the fecal department, but I have known of some kittens needing to be stimulated before, too. I'm glad I haven't had to do that, although of course, I would if I had to. And I'm afraid I'm already spoiling him rotten!

Thanks both for the advice.
