"Get off the Cross"
I'm really irritated, so I'm going to rant:
I spend a large part of my time organizing stuff for our move, and no, we're not moving alone - we'll have 3 other roommates (big place). I'm trying to be practical about the move - I have set-up cable service, faxed the appropriate documents to lease, set-up telephone service, collected and paid the deposit, and in fact, I did most if not all of the research involved in finding a place for us to live. This included burning up a lot of fuel and spending sometimes almost 8 hours driving around looking at places and being in my car.
I'm not really asking anyone to say 'thank you.' I'm asking that people not be critical and make remarks that I am too controlling, that I plan stuff way too far in advance, etc.
The truth is, when I don't do anything, no one else does, and then because I have a part-time job I'm to blame for it not getting done because I'm the one with the most access and extra time. Not to mention, I want to make sure things get done, and no one else seems to take iniative.
When I do what I'm supposed to do, for an example, asking how long we wanted to sign a lease, I'm "planning six years in advance," and I'm acting as if I'm "property manager." We sign the lease next week. I think it's something we should discuss.
When I complain about above situation, I'm told to "get off the cross."
I can't win and I hate it.

I'm so sorry that you are experiencing this. Perhaps some of the people in your life need to experience what it is like to do things their way. For the people closest to you, there needs to be understanding and mutualization in personalities. Go easier on yourself. Responsibilties can go on forever, and sometimes its good to just be for a bit even when things are pressing. btw, I love your blog, keep posting!
Hey Sember,
Thanks for your support! You are extremely nice and always happen to post on my blog just when I need a little nudge of friendship.
It's hard to go easy on myself, but I sure have been trying more these past few years. I'm sure you know what it's like to be your own worst enemy, so to speak.
Thanks for the advice, and again, thanks for stopping by!
Beth
