Renting & Kittens

I've gotten some e-mails asking if we ever found a home for us to rent, and the answer is 'no.' Although I did get some interesting offers, and found some houses that I adored, there was one reason or another that kept us from moving in. The biggest issue was that my fiance's little brother's fiance (soon-to-be-roommate) has a cat that she doesn't want to get rid of. That pretty much prohibited us from living in a nice home. Oh well.

So, we've signed an agreement to live in an apartment starting in June. I've been packing and shopping and doing all sorts of crazy stuff to get ready to move, and I'm a little excited.

I've also thought about getting a kitten of my own. I have always adored kittens and I think I'm more responsible now than I have been in the past. And, the good thing is, the little cutie would have a playmate with my soon-to-be-sister-in-law's cat.

Any advice for someone who is thinking about adopting a kitten?

yes, get a covered litterbox. oh, and make sure you take the kitten to the vet and get it checked out, especially if it was an outdoor kitten at first. sooo many nasty things kittens can have. oh there i go lecturing. sorry!
